Reflection: Be Positive

This semester, I have twenty credit hours. At first, I thought it was appropriate for me because I was not sure how many extracurricular activities I would participate in.

However, I only joined the department team of table tennis, so I had a lot of free time, such as Tuesday’s night and Thursday’s whole afternoon. After knowing my situation, some of my friends suggested me that I could join the culture cup. They said it would not only help me make more friends but also sharpen my singing skill. But I didn’t take their advice, for my singing skill was poor and I was fascinated by the novel on the Internet then. I just couldn't put the book down, and I spent most of my free time on it!

Now, I feel a little regretful because this semester will be over soon and I haven't learned much beyond my schoolwork. I think I should be more positive and give myself a chance to experience club activities. After all, how much treasure you can find in college depends on your attitude and action.

A Terrible Morning

Last Sunday, I planned to get up early at eight o’clock and spend the whole morning on studying general criminal law for next Tuesday’s quiz. Since I went to bed at 1 am, I could sleep for seven hours, and I thought it was enough for me to get full energy. At first, I woke up at 8:10, but I still felt very sleepy. As a result, I set an alarm clock at 9:00, and I went back to sleep soon.

However, I didn’t hear the alarm clock and kept sleeping until 10:50, which left me very little time to carry out my study plan. I deeply thought it was the power of cold weather that controlled my brain and made me felt so sleepy.

Fortunately, after I learned this lesson, I found that the best way to avoid such a tragedy is wash your face with cold water as soon as you wake up. I believe you will become conscious soon!

The Weekend Before Middle Exam

Last weekend, my friend and I went to the school library to prepare for our middle exam. However, after we studied for a while, an old man with a magnifying glass in his hand asked us for help. Because he was farsighted, he had difficulty seeing words on the screen of the computer clearly. Besides, he didn’t know how to use a search engine to find information which he wanted.

At first, we introduced Google search engine to him and taught him how to use keyword, but he was a little confused. Fortunately, after we showed him several examples, he figured it out. In addition to expressing his appreciation through a smile, he told us that he was a retired professor who had taught Chinese literature in NCCU before. How surprising it was! I did think it kept both sides happy the whole day ,and it proved again thatit is more blessed to give than to receive.

My Roommate 3

Ting-Yi Chou, one of my roommates, comes from Taoyuan County. I think it is very convenient for him to go home, for Taoyuan is just forty minutes away from Taipei. However, I have to spend two hours sitting on the train before I arrive at my destination. Besides, I need to book a ticket in advance so that I can have a seat.

He studies in the department of land economics, and he likes to play badminton. Sometimes he will invite his friends and me to play badminton together. Although I am not good at this sport, I can learn a lot from the tips they give me. By the way, he is also a big fan of UNI-LIONS (one of the baseball teams in Chinese Professional Baseball League). A few weeks ago, he even went to Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium to watch a significant postseason game. Unfortunately, UNI-LIONS lost the game, and LAMIGO-MONKEYS won the championship.
